The designer and artist, who has been a darling of trend collaborations, from Dior to Nike to Tiffany, is making a foray into an entire new discipline: the toilet by way of a basin with Kohler. As all the time, it's time that's at the middle of his considerations. His creation, named “Rock.01” is composed of a 3D-printed, vitreous china half, supported by a hand-cast metallic base. The primary evokes like a rock dug by erosion, and the second a stone oxidized by the weather. “Rock.01 combines the way forward for 3D printing know-how with probably the most primary strategies of hand-cast metallic,” says the artist. “It’s actually the brand new resting on the previous, and I discover that extremely poetic. Kohler was the right associate to convey such a posh and futuristic design to life.”&
