Sumei Skyline Coast, situated in Sanya on the tropical island of Hainan, celebrates magnificence and rest in a play of good proportions. Shenzhen-based GS Design has created a minimalist pied-à-terre, clad in white and blue, in reference to the ocean and the waves. The constructing’s facade plays on the undulation with its rounded windows and balconies. The interiors continue this motion, providing a fluid circulation because of the pure arches and geometric parts. Azure sky, sea, seashore, palm timber, sunrise, and sundown… the postcard landscape serves the spaces fantastically, inviting you to lose your self within the distant horizon: from the bar to the restaurant, from the infinity pool to the roof terrace, from the lounge to the rooms. The shifting of sunshine and shadow continues to depict all the poetry of this spatial construction on three,200 m². The pictures give this virtually unreal cachet. GS Design excels in the exploration and expression of minimalist art, reworking the lodge into simple but refined stage windows suspended in time.
