Situated on a hillside on Shuangyue Bay in Guangdong Province, China, the Library Water Drop is a sight to behold for all guide lovers. This excellent round architecture is designed by the Chinese language studio 3andwich Design / Hei Wei Studio. Its design, surmounted by a water basin and overlooking the sea, overflows with poetic interplay between panorama, nature, and culture. The three,500 m2, geometric constructing is outlined, from the air, by a circle and an extended straight wall. The opaline inside provides a studying room, a VIP tea room and rest areas, with floor-to-ceiling shelves within the shape of clouds at the coronary heart. Chairs and tables are placed alongside the glass facades where the general public can learn, chill out, and admire the panorama. To access the roof, the studio created a “hidden path” parallel to the primary entrance. The whole structure appears like an underwater library where time seems to be suspended, inviting the general public to an introspective and meditative studying journey in harmony with the surroundings.
