A steep slope, populated by magnificent deciduous timber, foliage, shrubs, birds, and wild animals. It's on this place, with a singular character, typical of the area of Nova Lima in Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil, that Casa Açucena (“lily” in Portuguese) has made its house. Created by Tetro Arquitetura, Casa Açucena has tailored to this unusual terrain. “It was obvious to take care of the pure traits” of the location, explains the architects. “Wanting upwards, from the ground to the tree cover, elevated up to fifteen meters above ground degree, was decisive in creating the idea.” However how do you build in a place with such a steep topography with out touching nature, whereas giving its residents the day by day experience of wanting up and seeing the sky via the tree tops?&

The architects’ reply is a mix of method and poetry. Standing on stilts, the villa seems to drift. Wearing a brilliant white, it is enveloped by a bay window, giving its guests the sensation of dwelling at tree-top degree. Rising above the ground, it lets the animal and plants develop under. Tetro Arquitetura selected to construct within the empty spaces between the timber. Not one of the timber have been reduce down. The topography was not altered. Architecture and nature coexist in good harmony.&
