Until November 19, the Esther Woerdehoff gallery will current the poetic work of Thomas Jorion, «No Man’s Time.» A collection through which the photographer questions the great thing about these places, nourished by the ever-increasing maintain of nature. Cinemas, factories, palaces, these ruins photographed in giant format evoke titanic constructions which, for probably the most part, have been never accomplished. Ruins that appear to materialize the sin of hybris, of extra and delight, identified by the Historic Greeks, denouncing people wishing to measure themselves and surpass the gods. A conceit that right here takes the form of architectural ambitions without conclusion. For the first time, these footage are accompanied by sculptures impressed by these similar locations, put in image via eleven footage. A method to capture a type in area, whereas highlighting the photographer’s favourite materials, concrete.

A self-taught photographer, he takes his photographs in natural mild utilizing a big format analog digital camera. He captures locations in ruins, deserted, and permits us to rediscover and picture their past glory in a time passed by.
