Design studio Nendo has unveiled its latest challenge: a villa designed utilizing concrete tunnels, commonly used within the development of infrastructure tasks, comparable to underground waterways, or the set up of power strains. Designed to store furnishings, paintings, and in addition to host a visitor home in Miyota-machi, Nagano Prefecture, the building is situated in a quiet and wealthy setting, where streams circulate via a thick forest of pink pine timber. The widespread square-shaped pieces weigh about 12 tons every, and a total of 63 have been used.&

Gravel and plantations surround the villa and invite themselves inside, as if to draw the setting into this singular house. As for the door handles, they might have appeared abrupt if installed as they're, so an unique design was made while hiding in a small area between the door and the wall. The bath is dug into the floor, in order that the water floor aligns with the floor, creating an phantasm of continuity. A creation filled with character, combining civil engineering concepts with refined design particulars.
