The French trunk-maker has set up shop in the Huîtrière constructing, an iconic edifice in the northern city, listed as a Historic Monument. Virtually a century previous, it was completely renovated final yr with the assistance of some thirty native corporations. A former Michelin-starred restaurant, it's an Artwork Deco masterpiece, designed by the architect Gaston Trannoy. Its pediment is sculpted with floral motifs and a bunch of grapes. An enormous oyster shell helps a bow window with stained-glass panes adorned with wisteria motifs. Other wonders are the mosaics evoking the seabed. The interior has also been restored or reconstituted, just like the sandstone mosaics on the floor.
